Math Content Connections
The clickable URLs, listed by Content Standards and Grade Levels, are "Beta" versions of the Mathematics Assessment Project (from Mathematics Assessment Resource Service, MARS), are cross-referenced by individual Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. The documents are ready to download, print, and use. The site, http://map.mathshell.org/materials/index.php, also has Prototype Summative Assessments, for monitoring progress at Grades 7-10, and Prototype Professional Development Modules. The spreadsheet will be updated periodically as tasks and lessons are finalized and released.
Suggested Use for these Documents:
- Teachers could use these documents as replacement lessons and tasks as they begin to implement Common Core curriculum lessons and units.
- Teacher teams could collectively explore the pedagogical concepts behind the Mathematics Assessment Project materials, including formative assessment, collaborative learning, and use of unstructured problems.
- Teachers teams could agree on common tasks and lessons to use with students, then share student work samples to examine patterns and trends in student learning.
