School and Homeless Liaisons 
  • School District Homeless Liaison Locator
    Under federal law, each school district is required to designate a local homeless liaison. This listing is currently being updated for accuracy and improved functionality. In order to locate a local homeless liaison, please contact your Regional Office of Education. City of Chicago residents may contact the Chicago Public Schools Office of Students in Temporary Living Situations at (773) 553-2225.
  • 2007 Updated Homeless Liaison Toolkit The Local Homeless Education Liaison Toolkit is a comprehensive tool that will assist both new and veteran local homeless education liaisons in carrying out their responsibilities.

    This toolbox is designed to help school districts implement the McKinney-Vento Act Fully, so they can address the needs of children and youth experiencing homelessness on a daily basis and in times of disaster. The toolbox contains information and practice lessons learned and resources developed during the recovery process following the 2005 Gulf Coast Hurricanes.
